Dear Delegates,

I am honored to serve as the Chair of the Legal Committee at this year's BERMUN conference!

This year’s conference theme is Fostering Global Citizenship among Identities and Responsibilities. Amid rising inequalities and conflict, it is crucial to be aware of the roles individuals play and the responsibilities that accompany these. Global Citizenship is a concept that advocates that regardless of religion, nationality, and sexuality, we collectively identify as human and therefore carry the responsibility to act in the interest of the world.

We discuss the questions of Regulating Migration and Integration and Bridging the Digital Divide. With newer technologies emerging, it is important to collaborate and integrate those with fewer resources. Maintaining a balance and reducing disparities not only between Member states but also amongst socioeconomic statuses is key. At this rate, the digital divide will make the rich richer and the poor poorer. Every individual, regardless of race, gender, or class, is entitled to equal access to technology and it is the responsibility of all to bridge the digital divide.

On a more personal note, I'm 16 years old and currently in 12th grade at the John F. Kennedy School in Berlin. In my free time, I enjoy playing golf, hockey, and hanging out with my friends. This will be my eleventh MUN conference and my second time chairing the Legal Committee. I look forward to meeting and working with all of you throughout the conference!

See you in November!
