Dear delegates,
Let me start by introducing myself: I am a senior at Zurich International School and am originally from Slovakia. Outside of MUN and other youth diplomacy and advocacy activities, I play rugby and love to bake!
It’s easy to talk about borders and resources on paper, but the reality we are dealing with in our committee is much messier. This November, this committee faces two difficult paradoxes: people being forced to leave their homes because of the climate crisis, and countries being pushed to exploit their own land to stay afloat.
Together with your fellow delegates, you will collaborate and debate to address these issues. Remember that it is your job to bring your nation's unique perspective and experiences to this committee. I encourage each and every one of you to learn, evolve, and welcome new perspectives throughout this conference!
