Co-Chair

of the

Jr. MUN

American School of Warsaw

Dear Delegates,

Welcome to Jr. MUN!

Under the overarching conference theme of “Fostering Global Citizenship among Identities and Responsibilities”, the Jr. MUN will explore the topic of “Improving Migrant Integration”. Global citizenship promotes cultural exchange of traditions and values, is based on a sense of unity within diverse communities, and focuses on shared humanity rather than differences. These values provide the basis to improving migrant integration. The Jr. MUN will focus on tackling migrant challenges, such as cultural prejudice, discrimination, and lack of employment and education,  in order to create more inclusive communities.

On a more personal note, I am 17 years old and am currently a student at the American School of Warsaw (ASW). I originally come from Vilnius, Lithuania, however, I have spent most of my life in Poland, moving here in 3rd grade. Outside of school and MUN, I enjoy going out with friends, listening to music, or reading books. I have recently been especially into Haruki Murakami books. This is my third year being part of the MUN club at ASW and BERMUN will be my eighth overall conference.

As your chair, I hope to create an atmosphere where each and every delegate feels empowered to share their ideas and opinions. I believe that through respectful dialogue and collaboration, you can come up with various new solutions to improve migrant integration.

I look forward to seeing you all in November!

Sincerely,

Emilija Daunyte
