Dear Delegates,

I am honored to serve as the President of the Security Council at this year's BERMUN2 conference!

This year’s conference theme is Fighting Inequality. Amid rising inequalities and conflict, it is crucial to be aware of the roles individuals play and the responsibilities they bear in addressing these issues. Fighting inequality emphasizes that regardless of religion, nationality or sexuality, we must collectively work to create a more just world where everyone has equal opportunities and rights. By acknowledging our shared humanity, we must take meaningful action to globally promote justice and equality.

During this year's Security Council, we will be discussing the matter of Fighting Inequality in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Fighting inequality in the DRC requires addressing the deep-rooted issues in its political system, which is hindered by poverty, conflict, and many more inequalities. Ensuring equitable education is essential for breaking cycles of poverty, empowering vulnerable groups, and fostering social and economic progress in the DRC.

On a more personal note, I'm 17 years old and currently in 12th grade at the John F. Kennedy School in Berlin. In my free time, I enjoy playing golf, hockey, and hanging out with my friends. This will be my twelfth MUN conference and my sixth time chairing. I look forward to meeting and working with all of you throughout the conference!

See you in February!
