Assistant President

of the

NATO

Zurich International School

Dear NATO Committee,

Order remains imperative for the United Nations. NATO has a particularly important role in ensuring the security and freedom of member states. Our topics, the situation in Ukraine and resilience against cyber and hybrid threats, closely align with NATO’s goal of ensuring order to withstand autocracy.

The situation in Ukraine remains more complex than ever before. From Ukraine’s desire to become a member of NATO, to added complexities with our current geopolitical stances, creating order in Ukraine remains more crucial than ever before. Concurrently, recent technological advancements, particularly in artificial general intelligence and large language models, demand effective management to maintain NATO’s commitment to global security.

A few ways to ensure you are exceptionally prepared include reading the background guide, understanding your country’s standpoint on the issues at hand, and watching your country’s UN Ambassador and/or heads of state speak. Additionally, please read the NATO Handbook, even if you are a seasoned delegate, as NATO procedure differs from other MUN committees.

BERMUN will be my eighth MUN conference, and my second time at BERMUN. I also lead my school’s MUN club and have chaired the World Health Organization (WHO) at ZISMUN, our school’s home conference. Outside of MUN, I am actively involved in Boston Consulting Group’s Business@School initiative and the Villars Institute, which have jointly helped me become cognizant of a wide variety of global issues. Personally, my multinational perspective has enabled me to be open-minded and facilitate inclusive dialogue一one of my key goals during our NATO Summit. In my free time, I enjoy playing racket sports, spending time with friends, and traveling.

I look forward to meeting you all at BERMUN!
